WELCOME TO OUR HOME IN THE FOREST
 Colin & Debra Perriman would like to welcome you to our home. We are the newest Bed & Breakfast to open in the Cowichan Valley area of Vancouver Island (Just opened January 2005)and are hard at work to make it one of the nicest and most comfotable Bed & Breakfast's for you to enjoy. We purchased the vacant 5 acre forested property in 2002. We previously lived in Victoria and Cobble Hill and had been searching several years for that "perfect area" in which to build our dream home. Our dream also grew when we also decided that we would like to own and operate a Bed & Breakfast as well.
 We had a house plan in mind for several years and had an architect modify them to incorporate a Bed & Breakfast area as well. A design which would allow our guests to relax, all have a view of our wonderful pond and to allow the maximum privacy for guests as well.
 Clearing of the land started in the summer of 2002 and construction of the main house with the Bed & Breakfast wing started in April 2003, completing construction on the home in September 2004 with our Grand Opening of the Bed & Breakfast on April 29,2005. We utilized as much of the surrounding forest as we could in the home using Maple,Alder,& Wild Cherry from trees on the property for  most of our flooring, trim and cabinets. We also utilized Cedar from our property for much our ceiling finishing and overhead finishing on our verandah and Douglas Fir to frame the house with.
Although this process took longer to complete the home what with hiring a portable saw mill on site as well as  getting the materials kiln dried and finished we feel the end result was well worth the wait! We hope you like the results as well and will choose to come and stay with us "in the forest". A word about our scrumptous breakfasts. Debra previously owned and ran her own restaurant for over eleven years and offers variety that we hope will appeal to all taste buds. Also if you have special dietary needs just tell us in advance so we can accomodate you. We hope to see you soon!
